Seeds (10 pieces per pack).

Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia). An evergreen tree up to 20 meters tall. Thanks to its numerous branches and small bright green leaves it is very popular among bonsai lovers. The bonsai can grow for about 50 years under room conditions. As opposed to elms that grow outside the house the plant keeps its leaves even in winter, and with extra light it can go on vegetating all year round.

When planting seeds, keep in mind that only fresh seeds germinate well - a week after collection, they should be placed in a moist environment. Increasing this time period leads to a dramatic decrease in germination. Elm seeds need a soil consisting of a mixture of sand, gravel and all-purpose soil.
The seeds are placed 2 to 5 mm deep in pots and left for 2-3 months at a low temperature of +3-5 °C. After that, pots moved to a warmer place, where 1-2 weeks later appear sprouts, and another 2-3 months later transplanted into individual pots, and moved into a sunny window sill, but not under direct rays. Active watering 2-3 times a week, mulching the soil and airing is necessary.
In summer, during hot periods, regular spraying several times a day is necessary. It is better to keep the soil slightly dry and avoid excessive watering. Change the soil once a year, in spring. In winter, the lack of light is compensated for with plant lamps. Elm grows quickly and young seedlings can be transplanted once a year. Composition of soil for transplanting: acadama + lava or zeolite in a ratio of 2:1.
