Description:

Seeds (5 pieces per pack).

Ruffled Fan Palm (Licuala grandis) is an elegant and graceful small fan palm. The corrugated leaves, similar to Chinese fans, have a shiny bright green color and sharp spikes on the edges of the leaf. Cultivated mainly as an indoor plant, but there are special requirements: high air humidity (60-70%), bright diffused light, warmth all year round (in summer about +25 °C, not below +18 °C in winter) and good watering.

The palm seeds are sown into warm, moist soil a centimeter deep.
Soil is slightly acidic (palm substrate + drainage). Licuala is demanding to the fertility of the soil, so it is desirable to add leaf humus to it. And for good drainage the soil should contain perlite.
The container should be covered with glass or plastic film. Seeds can germinate from 1 to 12 months. Seedlings grow very slowly.
Recommended temperature of cultivation from +16-25 °C. Winter temperature should not be lower than +18 °C. Maintain in well-lit places with slight shading from direct sun. If the plant is kept in winter in a cool and unlit place, fertilization is not necessary.  Young lycuals are well kept in the penumbra. Likes moist air and spraying. Protect from strong winds and drafts. Preplanting should be done after filling the entire volume of the pot with roots - about once every few years.
