Perlite

A natural volcanic material with many useful properties:
- It helps loosen and aerate the soil;
- retains moisture but prevents water stagnation;
- сontains no pathogens, weed seeds or pests;
- does not degrade over time;
- prevents the formation of crusts on the soil surface;
- improves the physical properties of the soil, but does not contain nutrients.

The disadvantages include its low weight, due to which during watering perlite floats up and covers the soil surface with a white layer.
