This process causes the shoots to twist and deform, making the tree a unique. Growing 'Contorta' hazel bonsai can be a fascinating process that requires attention and patience.

Location:
Prefers sunny or partially shaded locations.

Soil:
Can grow in both sandy and clayey, well-drained soils with neutral or slightly acidic pH.

Temperature:
Optimum growing temperature is +18 to +25 ºC.

Fertilization:
It is recommended to feed with an all-purpose fertilizer in early spring.

Watering:
Regular but moderate watering is necessary. It is important to avoid overwatering the soil, as this can lead to root rot

Repotting:
Once every two years in early spring before leaf buds open.

Pruning:
Need pruning of new growth throughout the growing season. Heavy pruning or formative pruning should be done around March before new leaf growth begins.

Wintering:
