Description:
Riga's Livu Square was established in 1950 on the site of war-torn quarters. The official name of the square until 2000 was the Philharmonic Square.
There is one cobblestone near the Cat's House on Zirgu Street, which since the mid-1990s marks the place where the river Rīdzene once flowed. In Livu Square, the bed of the Rīdzene River is visually marked with wavy pavement, flower and bush greenery.
In winter, Livu Square has a traditional city skating rink, and in summer there are outdoor cafes and souvenir kiosks.
