Ginkgo bonsai soil, Ref.2904
Description:
Soil for Ginkgo bonsai (Ginkgo biloba)
Choosing the right soil for ginkgo is important because the plant's roots do not like to be in water, but still need moisture and nutrients.
The soil must be well-drained—water must drain quickly to prevent root rot, but not so quickly that the roots dry out immediately.
It must provide good aeration and oxygen supply to the roots, as well as sufficient moisture retention to keep the tree moist between waterings.
Recommended soil specifically for ginkgo bonsai:
- 50% akadama (provides moisture retention and some nutrients);
- 25% pumice (promotes drainage and aeration);
- 25% lava (adds structure that promotes drainage and helps prevent soil compaction).
pH 4–8
A small amount of organic compost can be added in moderation (no more than 10%), otherwise the soil may become too dense or water-retaining.
Standard packaging: 500 ml
