Soil for maple bonsai, Ref.2900
Description:
Soil for maple bonsai
The best soil for maple bonsai is well-drained, moisture-retaining, and breathable. Maples like constant moisture, but cannot tolerate waterlogged soil and need oxygen around their roots.
The best mixture:
- 50% akadama;
- 25% pumice;
- 25% lava.
Retains moisture without remaining wet.
Stimulates the growth of small roots and improves branching.
Stable, breathable structure - prevents root rot.
Suitable for all types of maple.
pH from slightly acidic to neutral (5.5–7)
Do not allow the soil to become excessively dry for long periods (maples cannot tolerate drought).
Avoid:
Regular potting soil (too dense, stays moist).
Pure peat moss (over-watering and increased acidity).
Mixtures with a high sand content (poor aeration).
Pure akadama, which can compact over time.
Standard packaging: 500 ml
When buying 2 or more packs, the price for each is 2.20 €
