Amur Tiger occurs in Russia. A small part of the wild population is found also in China. The most recent wild population estimate is 360 individuals in 2005, and the numbers now are in the decline. Poaching of Tigers as well as their wild prey species is considered to be driving the decline. Any new losses are crucial since the genetic diversity within the population is already low.
