Soil moisture indicator, Ref. 8029
Description:
One of the most difficult and important tasks in growing plants is determining the correct soil moisture and the need for watering. Most types of measuring devices have one or two touch probes that need to be immersed in the soil, thus damaging the roots of the plant. Westland watering Indicator has a different device and the principle of operation Indicator measures humidity with a special paper, which is placed in the case of the device and can change color from red (dry) to blue (wet). The color change can be watched in the viewing window in the upper part of the indicator.
The instrument is placed in the soil and stays there for all time. To prevent damage to the paper element, the indicator must not be twisted, pulled out and inserted again.
After watering, the color changes from red to blue within 1 to 2 hours. If blue color prevails in the window (irregular coloring is allowed) - humidity is enough, red - a signal that watering is necessary.
Once a year it is recommended to replace the indicator with a new one.
Dimensions of the indicator:
- length 160 mm;
- diameter of the bottom part 8 mm;
- depth of soil immersion from 60 to 100 mm.
